WNBA Player Livid With Caitlin Clark's $5 Million Pro Offer From Big3 Men's League

Los Angeles Sparks player Lexie Brown isn't happy with Ice Cube offering Caitlin Clark some big money.

Ice Cube confirmed he made an offer to Clark to play just 10 Big3 games for a reported $5 million. She can earn $500,000 a game to be the first female player in the men's 3-on-3 league, and the offer also allows her to play in the WNBA.

It's an incredible offer that will make Clark paid like an NBA player and paid at a per-game average among the highest in the NBA.

Will she take the offer? That remains unknown at this time. She'd face serious problems against former NBA players, but before she can decide, the sniping has begun!

Lexie Brown not pleased with Ice Cube's offer to Caitlin Clark.

The Sparks player, who will earn a little more than $80,000 this WNBA season, took to X to give Ice Cube a piece of her mind.

"so no other women’s basketball player has came to mind in the last 7 years?" … "Instead of i don’t know, supporting the women’s league that already exists…let’s do this…in the middle of the NCAA tournament. men are HILARIOUS," the former Duke player tweeted.

Yes, Ice Cube should just give his money to the WNBA. That seems smart seeing as how it's run by the NBA and the star rapper's league and the NBA aren't on great terms. Just write the check, Cube.

Lexie Brown followed up by noting she's not attempting to take a shot at Clark, but just wants all women to be supported.

For reference, Brown earned more than $300,000 in her first six seasons in the WNBA and also played a bit overseas. It seems like her comments are coming from a place of jealousy more than anything else.

Caitlin Clark is the biggest name in college basketball, and she's by far the most famous women's basketball player in America. Her games are played on national TV. She sells out arenas. She's pretty much the Taylor Swift of her sport. I learned of Lexie Brown's existence for the first time after seeing her tweets.

That's not a knock on Brown. People just don't know who WNBA players are, but they certainly know who Caitlin Clark is. Ice Cube is trying to build a 3-on-3 league that's already had some decent success. What would dumping money into the WNBA accomplish? Nothing.

He wants to create headlines, which is why he offered Clark $5 million to play just 10 games. If Lexie Brown doesn't like it, she's welcome to try out for the Big3 or any other league. For the record, there's no rule that women can't attempt to join the NBA. Have at it, Lexie.

It's not personal. It's just business, and Clark's business is getting rich through basketball. Don't hate the player, hate the game. Let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
