NBA Legend Tony Parker Qualifies For World Series Of Poker Main Event

Spurs legend Tony Parker has qualified for the 2021 World Series of Poker main event, according to the San Antonio Express-News. Somehow he's the first player to qualify, and the director of the main event couldn't sound more thrilled to have him:

"He is very excited to play the main event for the first time," Gregory Chochon said. "Because of his career, he never had the time to participate, but he is ready for the challenge. We always promote poker as a sport, so Tony's qualification is great news!"

The tournament offers a cash prize of approximately $10 million with a $10,000 buy-in that will be the classic no-limit Texas Hold 'Em. Parker made just north of $160 million during his 17-year NBA career, so it's unlikely he needs the money. Really goes to show the level of competitiveness of the former basketball star.
