Human Wrecking Ball Matt Rempe Scores The New York Rangers' First Goal Of The 2024 Playoffs

By now you’ve heard of the legend of Matt Rempe, the 6’ 7" forward for the New York Rangers who’s become famous throughout the NHL for his bone-crunching hits.

Fans of the Blueshirts love the energy and physicality he brings which is a great compliment to the high-flying offensive attack led by Artemi Panarin. He’s electric to watch and always finds a way to impact the game with a little blunt force trauma.

But don’t be fooled, he’s on the ice for more than just ramming into people. Every now and again, he puts one in the back of the net.

In Game 1 of the Rangers’ first-round matchup against the Washington Capitals, no one had scored through roughly 25 minutes of game time. After entering the offensive zone, the Capitals somehow lost track of one of the tallest players in NHL history, and he parked right in front of the net.

The puck found its way to Rempe’s stick, and he potted the Rangers first goal of the 2024 playoffs.

That electrified the crowd at Madison Square Garden, and started a scoring spree for the Rangers. Just 33 seconds later, Panarin scored to increase New York’s lead, and Jimmy Vesey added on less than two minutes after Panarin.

Rempe can evidently do it all, and if he can score every now and again to supplement the Rangers’ top lines, he and New York will be a force to be reckoned with in a loaded Eastern Conference.
