Gracie Hunt Criticized For Posting Instagram Photo With Trophy After Chiefs Parade Shooting

The internet was upset with Kansas City Chiefs heiress Gracie Hunt, 25, after she voiced her sorrow for the victims of Wednesday's Union Station shooting but included a delighted picture alongside the Lombardi Trophy.

Critics of Hunt thought the heiress took her eyes off the ball by posting the day of the parade shooting and adding the cheerful pic as a bit of a victory lap.

Hunt, like many around the NFL, expressed true sorrow for Wednesday's tragedy. Gracie slotted the image ahead of scenes or statements about the shooting, which left 22 people injured and one Kansas City radio station D.J. deceased.

"Kansas City—hug those you love extra tightly tonight," Hunt added in her caption.

One commented responded, "People got shot and killed. You need a PR person," and that hate kept coming.

Here's what Gracie said in her post:

"The most beautiful, perfect day of love, laughter, & celebration at the Chiefs Super Bowl parade turned upside down in an instant," she captioned the post, posted Wednesday. "I’m still processing today’s tragedy. I love this city and I’m angry at what took place and heartbroken for the victims, their families, & the KC community.

"This world is broken and thank God it is not our home. I’m thankful for the hope of Heaven. Life is precious and each day is a gift. I’m grateful for a Savior whose sacrifice on the cross gives us the assurance of a perfect eternity in Heaven—with no death, no fear, no grief, and no pain. If you don’t have that—I promise you, you want it when you’re facing that moment.

"Thank you to the first responders for your swift actions that saved more lives from being lost. Thank you to KCPD, Chiefs security, brave citizens, and everyone at Union Station who worked to manage the chaos and pandemonium. Kansas City—hug those you love extra tightly tonight. We love you big this Valentine's Day and always."

The ex-Miss Kansas USA had five more photos on its carousel, so others also spoke up in her defense.

"Well said. My heart goes out to everyone. No one deserves this," one follower commented on Hunt's post.

Hunt's photo with the Lombardi Trophy, Kansas City's third in the last four years, was taken at the site of the Chiefs Super Bowl rally and hours before the shooting.

Wednesday's tragic KC shooting rallied the NFL community. Teams posted statements about the shooting, honoring the victims, as did all Americans who heard the news.

Her IG photo set off the masses … did they have a good enough reason?
