Donald Trump Becomes First President To Attend Coca Cola 600, Social Media Reacts

Donald Trump made history on Sunday afternoon simply by being a fan of NASCAR.

The Charlotte Motor Speedway in Charlotte, NC hosted the Coca Cola 600 over the weekend, which is one of the biggest racing events in the sport’s calendar. But today’s event held a little extra significance thanks to the appearance of the 45th president.

Trump flew into Charlotte to watch the race, and in doing so became the first Commander-in-Chief - past or current - to attend the race.

Upon arriving, he waved to the crowd, who roared in applause.

Before the race began, the racetrack held a moment of silence for the soldiers who have given their lives in service of our country. Trump participated and saluted for the entirety of the demonstration, which featured a rendition of the hymn "Amazing Grace."

He even took a picture with racer Austin Dillon.

Social media applauded Trump for showing up at that race, and for interacting with fans at the speedway.

Just another day in the wild and high-energy life of Trump.
