Deion Sanders' Colorado Spring Game Plan Is Comically Outrageous

Deion Sanders plans on going big for his second spring game at Colorado.

Sanders and the Buffaloes finished 4-8 in his first season in Boulder, and it was a very rocky time. The Buffs and Sanders jumped out to a blazing hot 3-0 start.

However, the wheels quickly fell off, and the team went 1-8 in its last nine games. Yet, the brutal downfall hasn't stopped the team's head coach from remaining very optimistic.

Not only is Sanders optimistic, but he's scheming up some huge plans for the spring.

Deion Sanders wants to go big for Colorado spring game.

"So, for our spring game, we're doing a whole Prime weekend. A fashion show Thursday, something for the boosters on Friday and the game on Saturday. We doing an after-party. White, black and hispanic DJs. We going to cover everybody, and then after the game, we doing something with the alumni. But also, maybe at halftime of the game or after the game on the rooftop, we going to have somebody," Sanders said during an interview with rapper Lil Wayne.

The star rapper jokingly floated that Taylor Swift might be involved with the music acts. You can watch their discussion below, and hit me with your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

Is this necessary for Colorado and Sanders?

I hate to sound like an old man yelling at the clouds, but this seems like overkill. Now, I understand why Deion Sanders is doing it all. He's going so far over-the-top because it's great for recruiting, and it helps build attention around the program.

On the surface, it makes perfect sense. However, there's a big difference between a plan sounding great and whether it's necessary.

Colorado won four games last year. Four! The team had a horrific collapse in its final nine games and lost some games in humiliating fashion.

You'd think everyone on the roster would only be focused on one thing: Winning.

Yet, Deion Sanders and his sons appear interested in extracurricular activities. His sons went to France for a fashion show a few weeks back and Deion is now talking about having a fashion show of his own.

Does that sound like a group of people absolutely dedicated to winning at any cost? It certainly doesn't to me.

We'll see how it works out for Deion and Colorado, but a little more focus on the actual game and less on antics might be a good idea. Let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
