Cincinnati Reds Grounds Crew Member Gets Stuck Under Tarp During Rain Delay

The Cincinnati Reds are going for a massive sweep Sunday, trying to win their third-straight game against one of the best teams in Major League Baseball, the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Reds entered each game as heavy underdogs, despite being at home, which would make the sweep all that more impressive. The Reds have one of the worst records in the National League, thanks to a 6-20 stretch after starting the season 14-10. But that didn't stop them Friday or Saturday, as they defeated the Dodgers 9-6 in the first game of the set and 3-1 in the second.

They were on their way to completing the sweep after scoring four runs in the third inning while keeping the Dodgers scoreless. They held that 4-0 lead heading into the sixth inning. However, that's when the rain came.

Prior to the start of the sixth inning, umpires sent the game into a delay and called for the grounds crew to get the tarp on the field. While the crew was trying to get the tarp on the Great American Ballpark infield as quickly as possible, one member got stuck underneath.

Fortunately, she was able to escape without suffering any injuries.

These situations are funny, as long as no one gets hurt. But they can be dangerous. Those tarps are extremely heavy, especially if they're getting pelted by rain. Luckily, the rain hadn't started coming down hard enough to cause problems for the crew, who were able to get the tarp on the field.

There is a lot of rain expected to hit the Cincinnati-area, but the good news for the Reds is that the game is already a complete game (five innings in the books). So, if MLB decides to call the game, the Reds will earn the victory and a sweep over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Maybe they can start a streak and get their playoff hopes back on track.
