Celine Dion Fired Up The Boston Bruins With Lineup Read, But They Still Went Out And Lost

Celine Dion — she of your mom's CD collection fame — got the Boston Bruins buzzing before their Thursday night game against the New York Rangers.

Sure, it didn't end well for the Big Bad Bruins, who were dealt a 5-2 loss, but they did get a heck of a lineup read from one of the songbirds of her generation.

Dion — who has been in the news because of her battle with stiff-person syndrome — was brought into the Bs' locker room with her two sons by bench boss Jim Montgomery, and the "My Heart Will go On" singer immediately got in a joke by playfully calling out one player who was taking his time getting dressed.

Check it out below.

If that didn't make the boys want to go out there and take a high-sticking penalty within the first minute of play — and that's exactly what they did — then I'm not sure what will.

Although there is something kind of funny about this.

Dion is of course a Quebec gal, and since the Nordiques are doing their thing in Colorado these days, you'd probably be safe assuming that she and her sons are Canadiens fans.

In fact, they visited the Habs earlier this season.

Well, people took notice of one of the most famous people to come from Quebec pumping up one of the Canadiens' biggest rivals.

That's a tough break for Habs fans, but at least they can take some solace in the fact that Celine Dion — despite getting the boys fired up pregame — doomed the Bruins.

The Bruins could have used those points too, as they are in a race with the Rangers and Florida Panthers for the top seed in the Eastern Conference and a first-round date with the last wild card team.
