Caitlin Clark Shines Light On Serious Security Measures To Keep Her Safe

Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark doesn't play games when it comes to taking her safety seriously.

Clark is the most famous female basketball player in the country, and already the face of the WNBA before playing a single second in the pro league.

Hopefully, the WNBA can use her to grow its brand. It's a tough task, but if anyone can do it, it's the former Iowa phenom.

However, with a lot of fame comes some security risks. The world can be a crazy place and she's not taking chances.

Caitlin Clark hints she has full-time security.

It was revealed in an incredible profile from Wright Thompson that Clark had security at some events in college, and you could always see police around the team when the Hawkeyes would play on TV. It now sounds like she has a guy with her at all times if she's out and about.

"My life hasn't changed much. I think just continuing to be aware of your surroundings and what you're doing. [Bodyguard] Steve follows me around...Don't mess with Steve. I'm still 22-years-old and trying to navigate life, and enjoy everything life has to offer," Clark told the media Sunday.

As sad as it might be to say, you simply can't be too cautious if you have a public image, are famous, have a huge following and go out in public. It just takes one lunatic for a situation to quickly turn tragic.

Or, it could be as simple as people being too pushy for photos or perhaps a bit too drunk if they see someone out at a bar. Caitlin Clark is a young millionaire, is incredibly recognizable and it's just smart business to have an extra layer of security and protection.

It makes even more sense if the Indiana Fever are paying for it, which I would guess they are. The league and team have way too much invested in her to leave anything to chance.

Also, if you're ever curious what top level private security costs and looks like, Google the companies of former Tier One operators who provide executive protection around the world. Best shooters on the planet, and they are *VERY* expensive. Not sure Clark needs that level of security, but it might not hurt.
