South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem is now planning to sue President Joe Biden for denying the state permits for an Independence Day fireworks display at Mount Rushmore. Not a good look for el presidente, but what’s new?
If science ever becomes a priority to our president — South Dakota will have a show unbothered. Unfortunately for many Americans, every freedom imaginable regarding safety and fun are under attack. Biden and Fauci won’t let us wipe our own butts without consent.
This didn’t come out of nowhere, though. Joe Biden threatened to “cancel July 4th” earlier this month:
Hey @joebiden,— Robby Starbuck (@robbystarbuck) April 24, 2021
I’d love to see you try to shut down the 4th of July. Please, come on down to Tennessee and try to cancel the 4th of July. Not gonna happen. My fireworks order just got 10x larger. We still believe in FREEDOM down here. 😉🧨🎇 pic.twitter.com/ViBRsqYibz
The National Parks Service denied the permits citing the “coronavirus pandemic and fire hazards.”
Are people even paying attention anymore? The pandemic doesn’t exist. Arizona, Texas, and Florida are already full-steam ahead with packed arenas and restaurants — meanwhile South Dakota sees regulations like a flesh-eating virus terrorizes their land.
Wouldn’t it be dandy if our president and the National Parks Service let the people make decisions for themselves? Spreading propaganda we can swiftly ignore is one thing, but regulating what we can do with our free time is over the line.
Here’s the reasons Kristi Noem gives for the lawsuit:
- “Mount Rushmore is the very best place to celebrate America’s birthday and all that makes our country special.”
- “After telling us they’ll circle back,” the Biden administration has not responded to our request to uphold the Memorandum Agreement between South Dakota and the National Parks Service to host a safe fireworks show
- Biden’s administration has “departed from longstanding precedent and reneged on this agreement without any meaningful explanation
To no one’s surprise, President Donald Trump attended the fireworks show this time last year and suddenly there was no “fire hazard” concerns.
I say all that to say this: President Biden and the National Parks Service don’t care about America. Their play, especially since last November’s election, is to hold political power.
If you want to celebrate America, then you’re forced to do so the way the president approves of. It’s never been this way, and it’s dangerous to call this type of control as anything other than dangerous. All that needs to happen for our leaders to make us play along is claim they’re putting us in a box for our safety. Get the vaccine — it’s for your safety. Baked chips only for school brought to you by Michelle Obama is all for your safety.
We sure hope that Governor Kristi Noem wins this lawsuit. If not, then South Dakota needs to find another way to celebrate this great nation in the pettiest way possible. Maybe Donald Trump could help?
