Just In: Georgia QB JT Daniels To Sit Out Matchup Against UAB

Reporting as of Friday announced that Georgia starting quarterback J.T. Daniels will be sitting out Saturday's matchup against UAB.

The QB has been dealing with an oblique strain, and despite "not missing a beat" at practice all week, Kirby Smart's newly announced decision sides with backup Carson Beck as the better option against Alabama-Birmingham.

Beck handled several first-team reps throughout practice this week, with Daniels also in the mix. Kirby Smart gave a vote of confidence for Beck during Tuesday's practice interviews. The backup likely stirred positive impressions early on, especially after Stetson Bennett was briefly regarded as the premiere backup earlier in the year.

Speaking of smart money. The Bulldogs (-23.5) are the pick to win Saturday's game, according to FanDuel Sportsbook; however, after the Blazers' 31-0 statement win at the Montgomery Kickoff, an intrigue to side with the points on this one has certainly sparked. The matchup in Athens is shaping up to be another outstanding college game on Saturday.

Disclaimer: UAB is 0-4 against Power Five programs since 2017.
