John Daly was in Richmond, VA on Monday to take part in the Bonefrog Open to benefit Uncommon Grit Foundation, which provides support to military and first responders. A phone happened to be rolling when Big John walked up to the tee at no. 11.
It’s 163 yards from the tips on no. 11, so you have to figure Daly used his hitting wedge to try and loft it up over the bunker. We’re talking about a guy with British Open and PGA Championship titles on his Wiki page. He’s hit this shot tens of thousands of times.
No spikes. Just hit it.
And then it happens. Big John, whose health has waned recently, finds a little magic in the sticks and records an ace for his outing team. “That makes eleven of them mother…,” Daly said catching himself.
Daly has spent this year playing on PGA Tour Champions, taking home $117,961 in earnings since January.

One of the great mysteries of life how John Daly won two majors he is a unique individual and i like him but there you go.
Daly had impeccable timing winning those titles before Tiger came along.
GREAT that Big John was helping out Uncommon Grit that helps families of fallen Navy SEALS as well.
He’s always been very giving of his time.
Shoeless? I was more concerned he was golfing in his boxers….
