Several Watson Accusers Insist On Attending Status Conference After Being Called Liars By Watson's Lawyer

Rusty Hardin, the attorney of Deshaun Watson, recently accused the 22 women bringing cases of sexual misconduct against his client of lying. If Hardin is going to continue making those accusations, he will now have to do it in a face-to-face setting.

Mark Berman of FOX 26 in Houston tweeted out a recent statement made by Tony Buzbee, the attorney who is representing the 22 plaintiffs. Apparently, Hardin's accusations prompted several of those women to "insist" on being in the courtroom on Thursday.

"Houston attorney Tony Buzbee confirms 12 of his clients, who have filed civil lawsuits against Deshaun Watson, have insisted on being present at a status conference (hearing) Thursday because they were called liars by Watson’s attorney," Berman said in his tweet.

Sounds like being accused of lying hasn't sat well with several of Buzbee's clients.

The hearing on Thursday isn't overly significant. It will settle some procedural matters like dates for when things will progress moving forward, but that isn't the point.

This will be the first opportunity for several of the plaintiffs to stand before those calling them liars. Thursday could also be another opportunity for Buzbee to make a public statement, this time with several of the alleged victims present.

We'll have to wait and see what else -- if anything -- comes of this.
