Seth Davis Has FOUR B1G Teams In His Top 6

When Seth Davis has four Big Ten teams in his list, you start paying attention.

Davis, a college hoops reporter for CBS Sports and managing editor for The Athletic's College Basketball, is also a voting member of the AP Top 25 Poll for college basketball.

Here are his top six this week, and his full weekly ballot can be seen here.

Did his fellow voting members of the AP Top 25 vote the same way? Nope.

The top six includes three B1G teams: No. 2 Michigan, No. 4 Illinois and No. 5 Iowa.

Why did he put an undefeated Gonzaga behind a 1-loss Michigan?

Davis said in The Athletic this week it's simple — he believes the Wolverines are playing the best basketball in the country right now.

"They are also doing it against superior competition to Gonzaga and have been especially impressive coming off that two-week pause," he said. "I am not demeaning what Gonzaga has done, but the Zags know they only have to play well for about 10 minutes to beat most of the teams on their schedule."

Davis said he doesn't believe Gonzaga's "sword will be as sharp" as Michigan’s come March Madness.

"So I made the switch," he said. "I reserve the right to make another one if I feel compelled to do so."
