Senior Bowl Adds Star Power With Heisman Trio From Alabama

The Reese's Senior Bowl is set to get underway next week. To some, that may not be important information. For those participating, however, it can mean absolutely everything.

The annual event typically acts as a launching point for top college players around the country. What those players put on tape during the season is obviously the most important factor, but a good draft cycle during the offseason can be considered make-or-break for NFL prospects.

Rosters for the game are usually strong as it sits, but some much-needed star power has joined in recent days. A trio of former Alabama standouts were added to the group, all three of which were Heisman Trophy finalists earlier this month.

Three days ago, it was the Heisman winner in DeVonta Smith.

Now, two of his teammates, Mac Jones and Najee Harris, have accepted their invitations as well. All three players are considered strong possibilities for the first-round. And the Senior Bowl could be an important step in ensuring that happens.

The all-star game will give all three an opportunity to improve their draft stock, but Jones will have the most to prove. There are plenty of critics out there who believe he was a product of the talent around him at Alabama.

Next week is a chance to prove otherwise.

As for the other two Tide standouts, there will be opportunities. With the Dolphins coaching staff set to oversee National squad, they'll get the chance to see Harris and Smith up close. Both players would improve a struggling group of weapons in Miami.
