Seahawks To Keep Josh Gordon On Roster Despite Latest Setback

Wide receiver Josh Gordon won't suit up for the Seattle Seahawks, but he will indeed remain on the roster, according to coach Pete Carroll.

Gordon was all set to make his season debut this weekend, then reportedly experienced a setback in his battle with substance abuse. Carroll wouldn't over specifics, only saying that Gordon is "frustrated" with the latest developments. Carroll added he has no plans to give up on Gordon.

The latest suspension is the ninth of Gordon's career. Despite all this, the Seahawks signed him to a one-year deal in September, anyway.

His most recent suspension came last December, when he was caught using performance-enhancing drugs. That was his fifth suspension for PEDs. He played in five games with the Seahawks last season after six with the New England Patriots.

The Seahawks are 10-4 entering this week's big NFC West showdown with the Los Angeles Rams.
