Seahawks To Allow Full Capacity At Lumen Field For The 2021 Season

Videos by OutKick

If there is an NFL team that gets energized by their fans, it’s probably the Seattle Seahawks.

The Seahawks have honored their fans in turn, declaring them their ’12s,’ meaning they’re practically an extra player on the field.

Last season, the Hawks had to play in front of an empty stadium, but the team will welcome fans back into the stadium at full capacity at the open of the 2021 season

The Seahawks have received approval from local health officials and the NFL to reopen the 68,000-seat Lumen Field, which has historically ranked as one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL.

“Can’t wait to see those 12s — can’t wait to see the 12s,” Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said last week.

“I know they’re coming. I know somebody is going to be in those stands. Can’t wait to get you out there.”

The team stated that fans will not be required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to attend Seahawks games, but fans who are not vaccinated will be required to wear masks.

Seattle’s first home game is set for September 19th against the Tennessee Titans.
