Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid was the bearer of good news, at least for his team, when he answered some questions about top wide receivers Sammy Watkins and Demarcus Robinson on Friday.
“He did good,” Reid said of Watkins at practice. “I’m encouraged to have him on Sunday. I think he’ll be there.”
Reid was equally simple in his polite explanation of Robinson too. ““He was good,” Reid said. “He’s been working out.”
Robinson just returned from the COVID-19 reserve list Friday, and Watkins had been listed as questionable with a calf issue. Considering they are among Patrick Mahomes’ most-prized targets, their presence at Sunday’s Super Bowl LV vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is massive.
And you would think there’s no way either player would let anything keep him off the field. So as suspected, the Chiefs should be at full strength. Reid’s words Friday just all but confirmed it.
