New York Giants Cornerback Sam Beal Pleads Guilty To Gun-Related Charges

This Big Blue player may be headed to the Big House after pleading guilty to gun-related charges from an arrest made back in 2020.

New York Giants cornerback Sam Beal may be missing the upcoming season due to ongoing legal trouble surrounding his arrest, now admitting fault to the assigned court.

According to a report from NJ Advance Media:

“Beal was arrested on June 2 last year, according to court records. Beal was pulled over by police due to a traffic violation and was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, improperly handling a firearm in a vehicle and marijuana possession.

He was indicted on the gun charges on Aug. 13, which was eight days after he opted out of the 2020 NFL season, as allowed by the league’s COVID-19 protocols”

Always considered a “name to watch” from Giants fans and the team’s defensive coaching staff, Sam Beal’s chances of playing for the team in the upcoming 2021-2022 season now appear slim — both due to the weapon charges and new addition of skill players to the secondary after signing former Tennessee Titan Adoree’ Jackson.

Having only played six games for the Giants since 2018, it may not be long before the team decides to cut its ties with Beal.

The team announced an official statement following the news, saying they are “aware of the situation,” with no further feedback at the moment.
