Drew Brees got crunched by Niners defensive end Kentavius Street on Sunday, and Jameis Winston finished the game at quarterback. Now, the question is whether Brees will miss more time, and, if so, how much. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Saints are “bracing” for Brees to miss some time:
#Saints QB Drew Brees suffered a rib contusion in yesterdayโs game, and heโll have an MRI for cartilage damage today. But sources tell me and @TomPelissero that New Orleans is bracing for Brees to miss some time to fully heal.

At 7-2, the Saints are currently a half-game ahead of the 7-3 Buccaneers for first place in the NFC South.
New Orleans’ next four opponents:
- Atlanta
- @Denver
- @Atlanta
- @Philadelphia
The silver lining for the Saints is that Winston is one of the more experienced backup quarterbacks in the league, and last year New Orleans went 5-0 in games that Teddy Bridgewater started while Brees was hurt.
Good for Drew, selling out his principles got him 9 more games. I hope it was worth it. Does anyone even remember Jacob Blake?
