Saints, Alvin Kamara Agree On 5-Year, $77.133 Million Extension

Star running back Alvin Kamara and the New Orleans Saints have agreed to a five-year, $77.133 million extension. The deal comes with a $15M signing bonus with $34.33M guaranteed.

Seems that the "running backs will never get paid" crowd should go into hiding.

Most analysts and fans have the Saints at the top of the NFC South, so it helps to lock up Drew Brees' most dangerous weapon behind Michael Thomas. The 3x pro-bowler had over 250 total touches last year, which goes to show Kamara was doing more than running the football. The Saints RB was the NFC South edition of Carolina's all-purpose Christian McCaffrey. Team's have shown no hesitation to pay all-purpose backs and that trend continues here.

Expect the rest of the league's running backs to cash in as soon as this week after watching another franchise invest like the Cowboys did with Zeke.
