Ryan Lochte Committed No Crime, Victimized By Left Wing Sports Media

Yesterday a Brazilian court cleared American swimmer Ryan Lochte of any criminal wrongdoing connected to a late night incident outside a Brazilian gas station during the 2016 Olympics. If you don't recall all of the details of the Ryan Lochte incident, here's a quick factual recitation of what happened:

Ryan Lochte and three American Olympian swimming buddies went out drinking. On the way home they stopped to go to the bathroom. The bathroom door was locked so the four swimmers peed in the grass outside the gas station. Ryan Lochte also pulled down a tattered sign hanging on the side of the gas station. At this point two Brazilian gas station security guards arrived, pointed their guns at the American swimmers and demanded money while screaming at them in Portuguese. Under gunpoint the American swimmers gave them money.

The swimmers were then allowed to leave.

Lochte told his mom about the incident, which was publicized the next day.

Several days later, angry over all the media attention the incident was receiving, the Brazilian government seized the passports of the three American swimmers still in the country — pulling two of them off the airplane as they attempted to return to America. One of the American swimmers was forced to pay nearly $11,000 in extortion money in order to leave Brazil. Lochte was also charged with a crime.

Now 11 months after Lochte was suspended for ten months by the national swimming foundation, after he lost millions in sponsorship dollars, and was publicly castigated and ridiculed by the left wing sports media for his purported white privilege -- Lochte has been cleared by Brazilian courts, who have acknowledged that he committed no crime, and is guilty of no wrongdoing.

Now what's the all too predictable reaction from the liberal sports media who rushed to condemn Lochte and hold him up as a symbol of white privilege?

Crickets.

Once again, just like with the Peyton Manning mooning and the Missouri fake protest, Outkick has been proven to be 100% right and the mainstream sports media, desperate to find a white man behaving badly, fell all over itself to condemn a guy for having the gall to pee outside and get robbed in a foreign country. The left wing sports media wanted so badly for Lochte to be a white man behaving badly that they twisted the facts of the story to fit their worldview.  Lochte's robbery in Brazil became, unbelievably, a symbol of white privilege according to MSESPN, which featured this open letter to white people on the front page of its site.

The article's headline -- the article is still up, by the way, will ESPN apologize for it? Doubtful. -- is:

“Dear Fellow White People: White privilege is a thing. And Rio was the perfect example.”

The perfect example of white privilege!

Simply amazing.

The MSESPN article began with a rallying cry:

“I’ve just been working in the media for a long time, and this (white privilege) has become an issue that pisses me off to no end. The social tightrope that black athletes have to walk to avoid criticism is absurd, and at the same time, we can’t help but always give white athletes the benefit of doubt. What unfolded in Rio is a great example of how far we still have to go.”

Wow, Lochte was really white privileged here. He peed outside and lost millions of dollars of endorsements, wasn't allowed to compete for nearly a year in his sport, was charged with a crime, and his buddies had their passports seized and weren't allowed to leave the country until they paid thousands of dollars in extortion money. Compare that with, say, Olympic basketball player Draymond Green, who was arrested for assault in Michigan shortly before leaving for Rio, snapchatted a picture of his erect penis to the entire world, and didn't even miss a minute of basketball action or lose a dollar in endorsement money.

Find me a single article online saying Draymond Green shouldn't be able to play basketball for America. Find me a single advertiser that pulled endorsement money. You can't. Because neither exists. Boy, that sure sounds like #blackprivilege to me.  That "social tightrope that black athletes have to walk to avoid criticism" seems about as wide as twenty airport runways lined up together. Draymond Green sure is lucky he didn't get robbed while peeing outside. He might have really faced some criticism then.

The truth of the matter is this, the sports media is desperate for white men to behave badly. Whenever a white man gets charged with any wrongdoing at all, the pants drop at MSESPN and everyone reaches for lotion. It's time for a nice slow stroke! We're going to enjoy this jerk off for weeks.

Will MESPN spend months reporting on Lochte's being cleared by Brazilian authorities? Of course not. It will barely merit a mention. There's a clear bias at play here, the left wing sports media believes that racism and white privilege are everywhere and uses any incident, even when it's not true, as further evidence of that "fact."

It's fake sports news, period.

This also explains the breathless coverage of Grayson Allen tripping a player in basketball, the in-depth coverage of a twenty year old Peyton Manning mooning and why virtually no media asked any questions about Missouri’s “hunger strike” that ended up costing the university hundreds of millions of dollars and caused enrollment to collapse, hundreds of jobs to be lost, and dorms to close. Manning and Allen are both rich white male athletes accused of minor transgressions and Missouri’s fake protests were endorsed by young black students. Everyone ripped Manning even though the story was made up by a crazy woman and promoted by a white race hustler pretending to be black. You would have thought Grayson Allen was a modern day Jack the Ripper the way his tripping incident was covered with a fine tooth comb. Yet virtually no one in the media questioned the Missouri protests because they were being led by young black men and if you doubt young black men in the sports media you leave yourself open to accusations of racism, the only thing that can cost you your job.

That's why Outkick is still one of the only outlets in sports to point out that Colin Kaepernick's entire protest is complete bullshit.

Missouri’s protest worked because of black privilege, a default assumption of white media that black students were telling the truth and protesting legitimately even when they were not. And the Manning attack worked because the very presumption of the article that set off the media firestorm was that Manning was receiving white privilege because his twenty year old mooning wasn’t being talked about enough.

Now that Brazilian judges have determined Ryan Lochte committed no crime, this story joins a long litany of supposed white male wrongdoing that have been much ballyhooed in the media and then disproved: Duke Lacrosse, the made up gang rape at a University of Virginia frat house, Peyton Manning and the Lochte case. In each of these cases the American media decided that privileged white men committed crimes and railroaded them even though the facts didn’t support their opinions.

Why?

Because of aticles like this one at MSESPN.

It's absolutely, 100% fake news.

The article continues:

“Try to imagine, just for a second, what the world’s reaction would be if a black athlete got drunk, urinated in public, destroyed some property, then concocted a story in which he bravely stood up to someone with a gun who was attempting to rob him and his friends.”

Ah, yes, the “A Time To Kill Moment” much favored by liberals who love to make the change the color argument at every opportunity.

“Now close your eyes, what if he was white?,” the perfect John Grisham mic drop trial summation.

Free Carl Lee!

First, Lochte didn’t “concoct a story.” Lochte and his friends were robbed after peeing outside and ripping a cheap advertisement off a wall. The Brazilian courts have now determined that Lochte didn't commit a crime at all. If four NBA players had done this exact same thing, black lives matter would have lost their minds over the Brazilian guards drawing guns on the players and demanding payment for paying outside.

What would have been one of the first things Black Lives Matter activists would have said?

“If four white swimmers had done these exact same things, do you think the police would have drawn their guns and robbed them? Of course not. This is racism! Black lives matter!”

And, guess what, every media member in Rio would have written about the “ugly racism” descending on the Olympic games. This would have been the number one story of the Olympics. We would have gotten a month of masturbatory excess from MSESPN and their allies in left wing sports media about how it's unsafe for black athletes to go anywhere in the world. About how little black lives truly matter. Colin Kaepernick would have probably ended up with the Nobel Prize.

Yet the exact same thing happens to white people and it's somehow evidence of white privilege?

Not content with making one bad racial comparison, the dolts at MSESPN continued with another one.

“As has been mentioned, Lochte is the same age as Carmelo Anthony, Team USA gold-medal winner. But Lochte is a year older than basketball great LeBron James. Try to imagine NBC's personalities twisting themselves into a pretzel in defense of James and referring to him as a kid. The definition of privilege, in this era of Trayvon Martin, Tamir Rice and Eric Garner weren’t given a scrap of the benefit of doubt, is Lochte and his USA swimming teammates knowing they could buy their way out of trouble in the middle of the night and still cast themselves as both victims and heroes.”

Whoa, whoa, whoa.

Lochte peed outside a building and MSESPN's comparing him to Trayvon Martin, Tamir Rice and Eric Garner?

Give me a fucking break.

Can you try harder?

What’s more “Lochte and his USA swimming teammates kn(ew) they could buy their way out of trouble,” writes the “author.”

THEY WERE ROBBED AT GUNPOINT!

This reminds of the time someone pulled a gun on me and I was carjacked. Luckily I had the white privilege to give up my car keys and buy my way out of my crime. NEWSFLASH: you don’t buy your way out of trouble when you are robbed at gunpoint; someone points a gun at you and commits a felony. Buying your way out of trouble is what Kobe Bryant did when he was charged with rape.

Are you ready for the MSESPN stirring conclusion?

“I cannot undo some of the horrible things done by people who share my name or my DNA, but that doesn’t mean I can’t acknowledge that it happened, and attempt to understand how the ripples of those acts still reach this day. Even in sports.”

Holy shit.

Did MSESPN really just write an entire column about Ryan Lochte peeing outside in Brazil and tie it into white guilt over 500 years of American history?

Yes, yes they did.

Now I'm ripping MSESPN for this column -- which is still up on their website without any acknowledgment that the entire thing is fake news -- but it's sadly all too emblematic of the coverage we saw surrounding Ryan Lochte last year. Now the Lochte case, Duke Lacrosse the Peyton Manning mooning incident, and the University of Virginia rape accusations all have one thing in common -- privileged white men who are accused of committing crimes and tried and convicted in the media have been proven to be 100% innocent.

You'd think that would give the liberal sports media and media pause when the next story like this arises.

But, unfortunately, you'd be wrong.

Because the liberal sports media so desperately wants white men to be criminals that facts don't matter at all. If that sounds familiar, it should. The liberal sports media -- and the liberal media at large -- have substituted one olden era of racism -- "black men are bad and commit crimes because of their race," with another more modern era of racism, "white men are bad and get away with crimes because of their race."

Follow my logic here -- deciding you don't believe an individual because of his race is, wait for it, racism.

White privilege is a sham in sports and anyone who argues on its behalf is a moron.

Don't believe me, go ask Ryan Lochte.

And in addition to apologizing to Ryan Lochte how about MSESPN stops being so racist?
