Russell Wilson Cleared To Play Week 10, Says ‘It’s Time’

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russel Wilson has been cleared to play.

Wilson posted a video documenting parts of his recovery with the caption “It’s Time.”

Just moments after the quarterback tweeted the video, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the quarterback has been cleared to play on Sunday by the surgeon who treated his finger.

Wilson was initially projected to miss 6-8 weeks due to a fractured middle finger on his throwing hand during the Week 5 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. The injury came off an accidental run-in with Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald when Wilson’s hand came down on the incoming DT. OutKick contributor ProFootballDoc broke down the injury and surgery in early October.

Geno Smith has led the Seahawks in Wilson’s absence. In four games, the 31-year-old completed 65-of-95 passes for 702 yards, five touchdowns and one interception.

The Seahawks went just 1–2 in Smith’s three starts with a 20-23 loss in Week 6 against the Steelers and a 10-13 loss in Week 7 against the Saints. Smith led Seattle to a blowout 31-7 win over Jacksonville in Week 8.

After coming off a bye in Week 9, the Seahawks (3-5) will travel to Lambeau Field to face the Packers (7-2) in Week 10, with kickoff set for 1:25 p.m. PST.
