Russell Okung, Who Took His Pay In Bitcoin, Reacts To Crypto Crash

The cryptocurrency haters are cheering this week as Bitcoin and other cryptos have tanked, which has led to social media meatheads hammering away at Russell Okung, the free-agent offensive lineman who took half of his 2020 salary ($13M) in Bitcoin. According to crypto media outlets, Okung's salary was converted into Bitcoin when the crypto was hovering around $27,000.

For those not up-to-date with Bitcoin's history, it eventually hit an all-time high of $63,000 per BTC. It's believed that Okung was sitting on around 240 BTC which would've pushed his 2020 salary into the $21 million range.

Fast forward to this week and the Great Crypto Crash that's going on. At one point Wednesday morning, BTC plunged all the way to around $30,000 which would've wiped out nearly all of Okung's gains since converting his salary to coins. It has since rebounded to $39,000, and Okung isn't the least bit worried about his massive investment.

In fact, the 32-year-old crypto believer bought even more. If you think Russell Okung, who has made around $110 million over his NFL career, is scared, you'd be completely wrong. This guy is buying the dip.

In other words, don't worry about Okung's wallet. He'll be just fine.
