Major League Baseball writers continue to make a mockery of the Baseball Hall of Fame, but Roger Clemens decided to take the high road. The Rocket has plenty to complain about, but it seems he’ll leave the complaining to us.
No worries — we got you.
Hey y’all! I figured I’d give y’all a statement since it’s that time of the year again. My family and I put the HOF in the rear view mirror ten years ago. I didn’t play baseball to get into the HOF. I played to make a generational difference in the lives of my family. (Thread)

It’s odd to see Roger Clemens sounding like a nice guy, however he pulls it off with this final tweet.

Good for him, because we’re not nearly mature enough to do all that.
Roger Clemens can still be voted into the Hall of Fame the same way Harold Baines did back in 2019, so there’s no reason to burn any bridges now. It’s just a shame baseball writers have turned their failed baseball careers into unshakable egos and left the greatest baseball players ever out of the most exclusive club in sports history.
It’s time, whether you liked Roger Clemens or not, to let former and current players have a say in who makes it. Perhaps the Players Association should start their own Hall of Fame?

Clemons is a no brainer for HOF definitely should be in
Ty Cobb and Babe Ruth could not get into the HOF by today’s standards.
“I played to make a generational difference in the lives of my family.” What the Sam Hill does that mean?
