The Colorado Rockies are going on offense, looking for a fan who yelled racial slurs at Miami Marlins outfielder Lewis Brinson after a game on Sunday.
The Rockies said that the team is “disgusted” by the incident and said as much in a tweet after Sunday’s game, a 13-8 win for Colorado over Miami.
“The Colorado Rockies are disgusted at the racial slur by a fan directed at the Marlins’ Lewis Brinson during the ninth inning of today’s game,” the team said in a statement after the game.
“Although the subject was not identified prior to the end of the game, the Rockies are still investigating this incident.
“The Rockies have zero tolerance for any form of racism or discrimination, and any fan using derogatory language of any kind will be ejected and banned from Coors Field.”

Via ESPN MLB Players Association executive director Tony Clark released a statement saying that racism will not be tolerated on or off the field at any time.
“While many are truly committed to respect and equality for all, the abhorrent racial animus displayed today highlights that there is still much work to be done,” he said.
Reports say that the alleged slurs came in the ninth inning with Brinson at the plate.
The slurs could be clearly heard on the Bally Sports Florida broadcast, to the point that Marlins play-by-play announcer Paul Severino immediately apologized to viewers for the language.
