Richard Sherman Pays Visit To Buccaneers

Veteran cornerback Richard Sherman is heading to Florida on Tuesday to visit and work out for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The 33-year-old free agent made it clear he wanted another shot in the NFL, and OutKick previously reported Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians and 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan have both expressed some interest in signing Sherman.

ESPN reports that Sherman has been in discussions with the Bucs for several weeks and needs a week or two from the time he signs with his next team until he's ready to play.

Pelissero said multiple teams have been aggressive in their pursuit of Sherman over the past couple of weeks, but Tampa Bay was first to get him in the building Tuesday to try to get a deal done.

In July, the former All-Pro corner was charged with five misdemeanors, including resisting arrest and DUI. He was arrested in connection with a situation at the home of his wife's parents in Redmond, Washington. Sherman pleaded not guilty to all five charges and said in a statement he was "deeply remorseful" for his actions and "behaved in a manner I'm not proud of."

ESPN reports he is still dealing with legal issues and has a pretrial hearing scheduled for Friday in Washington.
