Report: Odell Beckham Jr. May Have Played His Final Game In Cleveland

Odell Beckham Jr., who is now out for the season with an ACL injury, may never play in another game for the Cleveland Browns, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. If Beckham is done in Cleveland, his career with the Browns ended tearing his ACL trying to track down a defender who picked off Baker Mayfield.

Due to the injury and the likelihood he won't be 100% by the start of the 2021 league season, Beckham Jr. will have $12 million fully guaranteed by the Browns coming to him in 2021. "If they did want to trade him it would probably be around the spring or summer," Rapoport said. "Beckham has never really fully embraced Cleveland. He’s never had a good rapport with Baker Mayfield and as we saw last week, they may be playing better without him."

Last week, when asked by the media, Mayfield wasn't interested in talking about the subject of him performing better without Beckham on the field. “I’m not even going to comment on it," the Browns quarterback said. A small sample size of Mayfield's performance without Beckham on the field shows his touchdown to interception percentage improves considerably. His passer rating is 36 points higher over the small sample size as well.

Rashard Higgins, Beckham's replacement, says he feels so close to Mayfield that it's as if Higgins' “mama gave birth to him.” The Browns might have no choice but to move on if Higgins and Mayfield are this connected.
