Ravens vs. Steelers Thursday Night Football Betting Preview

Special to Outkick The Coverage from OddsShark.com

The Pittsburgh Steelers won't have Ben Roethlisberger at quarterback on Thursday night, and they won't be favorites at home against AFC North rival the Baltimore Ravens for the matchup at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Roethlisberger suffered a sprained MCL and a bone bruise in his knee in the team's slim win on the road over the St. Louis Rams last week, which puts him on the sidelines for the foreseeable future and hands over the Steelers' offense to veteran backup Michael Vick.

That resulted in the Steelers opening as 2-point home underdogs against the Ravens on the Week 4 NFL odds, with that line shifting to Baltimore -3 by the middle of the week. And the Ravens haven't exactly lit the world on fire this season either, earning that chalk status despite sitting at 0-3 both straight up and against the spread heading into Week 4.

The Steelers, 2-1 SU and 2-0-1 ATS on the season, will be looking for some revenge on Thursday night even with Big Ben on the sidelines, as the Ravens bounced them from the Wild Card round of last year's playoffs with a 30-17 road win as a 3-point underdog.

Baltimore and Pittsburgh split their two regular-season meetings in 2014 at 1-1 both SU and ATS. The Steelers have had the slight edge on the betting lines at the sportsbooks in recent seasons at 4-6 SU but 5-4-1 ATS in their last 10 games against the Ravens according to the OddsShark NFL Database dating back to 2011.

The OVER/UNDER went 6-3-1 in those 10 games, and Thursday night's total is listed at 43.5 points. The OVER is 2-1 in Ravens games and 1-2 in Steelers games so far this season.

Vick completed five of six pass attempts for 38 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions in relief of Roethlisberger against the Rams last week, getting sacked twice, and in his career he's 2-1 SU but 0-3 ATS against the Ravens.

Prop bets at the sportsbooks have the OVER/UNDER on Vick's passing yards for Thursday night set at 230.5, while his OVER/UNDER for touchdown passes in the game is set at 1.5.

Kickoff for the game on Thursday night is set for 8:25pm ET at Pittsburgh's Heinz Field. Check out the complete Ravens vs. Steelers matchup report at OddsShark.com.
