Ravens Beat Browns 47-42 In Thriller

The Baltimore Ravens have defeated the Cleveland Browns 47-42 in an absolute thriller that felt like the first real sporting event of 2020. Baker Mayfield and Lamar Jackson delivered under the bright lights, but there was plenty of drama in between. Ravens staffers reported Jackson left in the fourth quarter due to "cramps." Looked, to us at least, like he may have had an accident.

You be the judge.

That's a Popeyes spicy chicken sandwich jog, and we won't be told otherwise. Yes, players with cramping have taken a while in years past, but Jackson was gone awhile.

Football wise, Lamar Jackson went for 163 yards through the air, but his real damage came on the ground (go figure.) How the Cleveland Browns defense allowed Jackson to scramble all night for 124 rushing yards and two touchdowns, we'll never understand.

Baker Mayfield was great stats wise, but he hit a dry spell at the beginning of the second half, throwing six consecutive incomplete passes. That hurt. He eventually made up for it though, leading the Browns from behind to take a lead that his defense eventually squandered. What a football game.

Colin Cowherd can hide now

There's no question that Baker Mayfield is putting his money where his mouth is. Mayfield has been all business this season after OBJ's season ending ACL tear, and he deserves all the credit. Cleveland got back to running the football, and it paid off tonight with four rushing TDs.

Nick Chubb rushed the ball only 17 times, but he made them count, contributing 82 yards and two scores of his own. Three different Browns receivers corralled six catches, which reveals a lot about the environment in Cleveland without OBJ.

Even Lamar said he was cramping. Sorry, bud, no one believes you.

All this aside, Cleveland's last-second safety was catastrophic to the Browns +3 line. It's the most 2020 Cleveland Browns event ever, and it's not surprising. Why do we even gamble on the Browns?

But seriously, Colin Cowherd should have Mayfield on The Herd to give him his due. Lamar Jackson looks to have stolen some momentum back on the season, and he'll be right back at it next week at home against Jacksonville. After defeating Cleveland tonight, the Baltimore Ravens sit just a game behind the Browns for second in the AFC North. Unless Lamar craps the bed, it looks like the Ravens are back.
