Rams’ quarterback Jared Goff broke his thumb during last night’s loss to the Seahawks, and he underwent surgery to repair it this morning. That leaves back up John Wolford to start next week in the biggest game of the season.
Yikes.
John Wolford would be first QB to make his first start for a team in Week 17 with a playoff berth on the line since Kyle Orton for the 2013 Cowboys, per @EpKap. https://t.co/pMZx6VdmCI

Jared Goff was abysmal in last night’s loss, but Rams fans certainly would rather have him play this Sunday against the Cardinals than Wolford. Their one hope for victory is that Cardinals’ quarterback Kyler Murray is also dealing with a “lower leg” injury, according to Kliff Kingsbury.
For those that missed Goff’s injury, check it out.

It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to realize that the Rams have to turn to their backup now. Even if you have no horse in this race, it always stinks to watch a team’s best players miss their biggest game of the season.
Rams’ head coach Sean McVay will have his hands full.
