Rams, Jalen Ramsey Agree On five-year, $105 million Contract Extension

Adam Schefter is reporting this morning that Jalen Ramsey and the Los Angeles Rams have agreed to a contract extension. The deal is for five-years, $105 million that makes him the highest paid cornerback ever. $21 million per season. $71.2 million GUARANTEED (also a record). Wow.

The star cornerback has been all over the Rams about an extension since his arrival, so a deal getting done during a pandemic should work. No better time to gain financial security.

Seems that the top five picks in the '16 draft did okay for themselves.

Not to say this is the '03 NBA draft, but drafting 5/5 players worth a damn in the top picks is impressive!

We checked in on Ramsey himself this morning. Seems to happy about the new money:

Unlike Kodak Black, Jalen Ramsey's money on Instagram can be as real as he wants it to be. At roughly $1.3 million/game, the all-pro should have no problem flexing on and off the field. Money usually brings out exactly who that person always intended to be and we can't wait to see it this year.

As for the Rams, they lock up their best cornerback despite financial limitations they had to navigate these past couple years. Good on them.
