Projected Top RB Najee Harris Training With Future Hall of Famer Adrian Peterson

Videos by OutKick

Adrian Peterson is 36 years old now. It is hard to believe the former top-10 pick has been in the NFL for 14 years, but he’s only 180 yards away from 15,000 career rushing yards. Considering it’s been a passing league down the final stretch of his career, that’s impressive.

Right now, there is no better player for Najee Harris to train with while preparing for the NFL draft later this month. The former Alabama star running back shared a tweet on Monday showing the two working out together with the caption “Iron sharpens iron!!”

Harris is fresh off a successful career at Alabama. He totaled 3,419 yards (2,690 rushing, 729 receiving) and 50 touchdowns over his last two seasons alone, which should make the talented running back a first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Peterson was never the receiver Harris was in college — or the NFL, for that matter — but he knows a thing or two about toting the rock. He did it on an elite level at Oklahoma, and he’s continued to do it in the NFL level for almost a decade and a half.

Now might be time to pass the torch to a next generation running back such as Harris.
