ProFootballDoc: Should Colts fans worry about Carson Wentz's knee?

A multi-ligament knee injury played a major role in derailing Carson Wentz' career with the Eagles. Now that he has been traded to the Colts (pending physical), is there any long-term health worry?

Since it first happened, I have always thought the knee injury was more than an ACL tear and that has been since confirmed. Rushing back the next season may have contributed to his back issues as not stepping into throws could have altered his spine mechanics, leading to a stress fracture.

The concern for Wentz' back long term is greater than the knee. The ACL and LCL should be well healed and be a minimal issue. The likely spondylolisthesis (pars stress fracture) is something the Colts will have to monitor. No trade is final until the physical is completed, but I don't see any issues here.

Wentz' knee is good to go. The spinal issue needs to be monitored, but the real question is whether his old offensive coordinator Frank Reich and now head coach can resurrect his on-field performance.
