President Trump Set to Leave Walter Reed: ‘Don’t Be Afraid Of COVID’

Videos by OutKick

Good news! At 6:30 p.m. today, President Donald Trump is set to leave Walter Reed Medical Center.

The president tweeted he “feels really good.” In fact, better than he did 20 years ago. Mark that down as “pretty good.”

Trump advised Americans not to fear COVID-19:

“Don’t let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge.”

Undoubtedly, the media will spin that negatively and claim Trump isn’t taking the virus seriously. Though, in reality, his tweet reflects exactly what the data shows.

Those in high-risk categories should remain extra cautious when it comes to the virus. No one denies that. Meanwhile, all other Americans should remain careful and considerate and wear a mask. They should not, however, live in fear.

According to new data from the CDC, individuals under 70 have at least a 99.5% survival rate.  For those 70 and older, the rate lowers to 94.6%.

Everyone at Outkick is glad to hear that the president is doing better and headed back to the White House.

  1. ***Those who fit high-risk categories should be extra cautious when it comes to the virus; no one denies that. Meanwhile, Americans who aren’t at such risk should be careful, considerate, and wearing a mask. They should not, however, be hiding in fear — scared to live their lives.***

This is true; however, he needlessly takes it too far the other direction. He’s been mocking people (e.g. Biden) simply for wearing masks. He’s spent most of the time not wearing a mask around groups. Then he gets the virus and needs oxygen. Nearly nobody has access to healthcare that he had. Thank God he is recovering and hopefully suffers no setbacks. America can’t handle the CTs that will arise if his health lapsed.

He should’ve played this more down the middle. If Trump loses the election, it’ll simply come down to centrists / swing state voters feeling more uncomfortable with his abrasiveness than the entire Democratic Party’s incompetence.

  2. Corona is no longer a mystery and can be managed. Abrasiveness is the least of our worries. A Joe Biden Administration with Harris, Sanders, AOC, O’Rourke, and Warren would be an absolute disaster. Any independent who prefers a weaker America, a stronger China, Government run health care, no borders, higher taxes and more regulations…should vote for Joe.

  3. The Left has some great plans for America…Open Borders, New Green Deal, Income Redistribution, etc

What’s not to like about that? Should *work great until you run out of “Other People’s Money”

*Thanks to Lady Thatcher for that quote

  4. OKTC is a big enough media company to get answers: what is the current estimate of Americans who have had COVID? Early estimates were 10x to 20x the number who have tested positive. That would mean between 70 to 140 million people. That would largely mean these masks are a farce. Where is the random testing to determine? Where were the randomized clinical tests on hydroxychloroquine for early, mid and late term patients (with and without erythromycin and zinc)? Were they never done because there was no profit motive for pharma?
