Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts Trending Toward 'Out' For Week 13

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is slated to be a game-time decision for Week 13's matchup against the New York Jets, but the general sentiment around the building is that Hurts will sit the game out.

According to the announcement, the team is waiting to solidify the quarterback's status until they are able to test out the ankle on Sunday.

Though Hurts spoke out on the ankle injury — suffered during Week 12's loss, 13-7, against the New York Giants — during a media session Wednesday to announce that he's "ready to go," backup Gardner Minshaw took the majority of practice snaps on Thursday and Friday.

Before running into Big Blue, the Eagles (5-7) were on a three-game winning streak. Putting up a 40-pointer against the New Orleans Saints in Week 11 primed the team to overcome a three-win Giants team. Week 13's offense failed to muster more than a rushing touchdown from Boston Scott, and Hurts walked away from the contest with an injury.

Gardner Minshew ranks among the NFL's best backup quarterbacks. And against the New York Jets, Eagles fans should still like their chances to beat the 3-8 squad off a typical performance from Minshew Mania.

As Jacksonville's starter, Minshew tossed 37 touchdowns, 11 interceptions and 5,541 passing yards.
