PETA Wants To Change MLB's 'Bullpen' To 'Arm Barn'

PETA, the animal rights organization, is now saying Major League Baseball should change the name 'bullpen' to 'arm barn' because of its reference to a "bull's pen", where bulls are held before they're slaughtered.

Everything's offensive these days, however arm barn does sound a lot better than bullpen, objectively speaking. And props to the underpaid intern that thought of this PR stunt for PETA by disguising an advertisement with creativity.

Bullpen still shouldn't go anywhere just as we claimed with the Indians and Redskins, but this was a fun idea.

"It's a word with speciesist roots & we can do better than that," PETA tweeted. "switching to "arm barn" would be a home run for baseball fans, players, and animals."

Let's get this out of the way. Animals don't have feelings despite how these animal rights geeks contort reality. Secondly, players don't give a rip what you call an area relief pitchers prepare to do their jobs. It's practically certain the only people concerned to make this change are borderline mentally ill before this debate ever began.

That said, arm barn sounds amazing and it's a shame an animal rights group had to take offense to something they don't engage in, which is sports, to create this nickname. Out of sheer spite for their organization, Major League Baseball needs to fire back that names for a section on the sports field has never impacted a single animal's life -- it just helps people that like animals more than people sleep better at night as they deprive their bodies with vegetarian diets.

Hey PETA, beat it.
