FBI Looking For Woman Who Allegedly Stole Nancy Pelosi’s Laptop to Sell to Russians

Well, I didn’t see this one coming. The FBI is searching for Riley June Williams, a woman accused of stealing Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s laptop during the Capitol attack to sell it to the Russians.

To the Russians, huh?

“It appears that WILLIAMS has fled,” the affidavit signed Sunday says. “According to local law enforcement officers in Harrisburg, WILLIAMS’ mother stated that WILLIAMS packed a bag and left her home and told her mother she would be gone for a couple of weeks. WILLIAMS did not provide her mother any information about her intended destination.”

A witness claimed to authorities they saw Williams “taking a laptop computer or hard drive from Pelosi’s office.”

“Witness 1 stated that WILLIAMS intended to send the computer device to a friend in Russia, who then planned to sell the device to SVR, Russia’s foreign intelligence service. According to [Witness 1], the transfer of the computer device to Russia fell through for unknown reasons and WILLIAMS still has the computer device or destroyed it.”

The Daily Wire notes that still-images captured on video of the Capitol madness show a woman, who matches Williams’ description, wearing a brown coat and carrying a zebra-print tote bag. Adding she is heard yelling “upstairs, upstairs, upstairs.” The FBI says the stairway in question leads to Pelosi’s office.

On January 8, a Congressional aide tweeted that a laptop “used for presentations” had been stolen from a conference room in Pelosi’s office suite. It’s unclear if this is the same laptop Williams is accused of stealing. If not, perhaps it too is going straight to Russia? We don’t know, so we won’t guess.

Republican or Democrat, you never root for one to lose their laptop and fear it may be sold to the Russians. Not even if it’s a Chromebook.
