Pat McAfee Is Building a Savage Stable in NXT

In August, Pat McAfee had a phenomenal match against Adam Cole in NXT. While McAfee lost, it was his first time in the ring after just a few weeks of training. Considering how little time he had to prepare for it, his performance was almost astonishing.

McAfee has been back in NXT over the past two weeks, and he is on a revenge tour against Cole and his stable the Undisputed Era, which also includes Bobby Fish, Kyle O'Reilly, and Roderick Strong.

In the story last week, O'Reilly and Fish were supposed to have a tag-team title shot against Fandango and Tyler Breeze, but they were taken out backstage by a mystery man. Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan received the title shot instead. A masked man interfered and helped them win the belts, and then revealed himself to be McAfee.

On Wednesday, O'Reilly sought vengeance against McAfee, Lorcan, and Burch. Pete Dunne, an excellent young British wrestler who has been out of action in America since March due to pandemic travel restrictions, returned. Given that McAfee is a heel and Dunne is a face, Dunne smashing O'Reilly with a chair and joining McAfee's stable is a big swerve.

Whatever they end up calling McAfee's stable, it looks like they're going to have a prolonged feud with the Undisputed Era.
