Paige VanZant's Going To UFC's Fight Island

Of course Paige VanZant's going to Fight Island for UFC 251. Have you seen the waterpark on fight island in Abu Dhabi where Dana White will be quarantining his fighters? The location is called Yas Island and it looks like something out of a Tycoon game, but it's real, it's by the Abu Dhabi airport and the waterpark is ready to go for UFC fighters looking to blow off some steam between training sessions. It makes business sense to bring VanZant along for her first UFC mission since January 2019.

She's finally ready to go after fracturing her right arm back in March and Dana knows she'll draw eyeballs to UFC 251 on July 11 against Amanda Ribas. Then you leave her there for the rest of the month as UFC takes over the island and have her do social media things. Go to the beach, the crazy waterpark, out on a boat, etc. It's not like Dana's flying the UFC crew to some island in the middle of nowhere. For example, Yas Island has an IKEA. It's not going to be some Survivor show.

VanZant, who's 2-3 in UFC since December 2015, and other fighters will be inside a safe zone featuring arena, hotel, training facilities, and dining establishments that will cover nearly 10 square miles. "This safety zone will only be open to UFC athletes and their coaches; UFC staff and other event personnel; and Yas Island employees who are necessary to ensure the operation of the facilities."

I think she's excited.
