Here we are in early January, thinking it’s still football season, but in reality, the calendar has turned to ass-eating season. Who knew?
Pabst Blue Ribbon, apparently. (We’re guessing Buffalo Bills fans also knew about it too but were too busy tailgating and putting back PBRs in their uncle’s ’98 Grand Am to say anything.)
The beer behemoth sent a tweet Monday suggesting those not drinking this month (losers!) may want to visit the Hershey highway buffet, the same road frequently traveled by PBR not long after it’s consumed.

Early on Monday morning, Pabst Blue Ribbon’s official Twitter account tweeted its nearly 100,000 followers, “Not drinking this January? Try eating ass!”
Not the most appetizing New Year’s resolution, but certainly an easier way to work the backside than heading back to the gym for post-holiday squats.
A Twitter user then replied to PBR’s suggestion by asking: “PBR or ass? What’s the difference?”
The beer brand responded in the most 90s way possible: “Ask your mom.”
All that was missing from that response was a shot of Mike Dexter calling Amanda Beckett, “Aman-Duh!”.
Pabst Blue Ribbon has since issued an apology for the backdoor banter.
“We apologize about the language and content of our recent tweets. The tweets in question were written in poor judgment by one of our associates,” PBR said in a statement to Adweek. “In no way does the content of these tweets reflect the values of Pabst and our associates. We’re handling the matter internally and have removed the tweets from our .”
Maybe an apology wasn’t needed, just better marketing. Rather than separate football season, ass-eating season and drinking season, why not combine the three? Buffalo fans have been doing it for years now, and outside of the occasional oral hygienist, no one seems to be complaining.
