Over-Vaccinating? Experts Believe U.S. Could Be On The Verge Of Unnecessary Boosters

COVID boosters every three months isn’t just unfeasible, it may not improve immunity, according to experts who told the Daily Mail in an exclusive that a fourth booster shot may be out of the question because of the Omicron variant.

Professor Ian Jones, a virologist at the University of Reading in the U.K. told the media outlet that Omicron might be the “natural vaccine” that gives people an immunity boost without serious illness. As if that news isn’t great enough, Jones says that future variants “may be even more mild” making it unnecessary for future booster shots for healthy adults.

Virologist Lawrence Young of Warwick University added that an annual booster for the elderly and vulnerable should be plenty to keep COVID in check.

And those experts who believe boosters every four to six months are necessary also acknowledge that it’s a “daunting prospect” to even make that happen.

Israel has already started giving out fourth doses of COVID vaccines with vulnerable people being approved to get those shots Friday morning at Israel’s Sheba Medical Center where heart-and-lung transplant patients were the first to get the fourth shot.

Dr. Anthony Fauci said last week during a radio appearance that it’s too soon to be talking a fourth shot, but didn’t rule it out.

“One of the things that we’re going to be following very carefully is what the durability of the protection is following the third dose of an mRNA vaccine,” Fauci told WCBS Newsradio 880. “If the protection is much more durable than the two-dose, non-boosted group, then we may go a significant period of time without requiring a fourth dose.”

The experts interviewed by the Daily Mail say an annual jab for those in the vulnerable category seems to be doable.

“If Omicron is an attenuated strain already on its way to endemicity then later versions may be even more mild and the need for vaccination for an otherwise fit adult might recede,” Professor Ian Jones added.

“You have to remember that making you very sick is no good to the virus at all, all it ‘wants’ is to transmit, so virus evolution will tend towards a less severe strain which you will pass around as you will struggle on with work etc much as we do for common colds.”

Perhaps sensing that he will never be able to lockdown the virus after nearly two years of randomly locking down his citizens, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is allowing New Year’s festivities while telling people to get bolstered.

“Look at the intensive care units and the miserable, needless suffering of those who did not get their booster, that could be you,” Johnson said during a NYE address.

“So, make it your New Year’s resolution, far easier than losing weight or keeping a diary, find a walk-in center or make an online appointment.”

What’s clear is that the pols seem to know the gig is up and their days of locking up their citizens is coming to an end. Even in Australia, which has had some of the strictest COVID lockdowns in the world, citizens were in Sydney Harbor to watch fireworks and celebrate 2022.
