The college football season is halfway over for many teams and Alabama, Clemson and Georgia have distinguished themselves as the three best teams in the country.

Okay, here we go with the Outkick Top Ten.

1. Alabama

It speaks to the standard Nick Saban has set at Alabama that a nearly double digit road win in front of over 100,000 opposing fans isn't that impressive.

The reality is this -- the only game the Tide can lose left on the regular season schedule is at Auburn.

But it's also hard to see Auburn losing more than one SEC game -- maybe to Georgia? -- so the Iron Bowl will be for the SEC West.

2. Clemson

The Tigers were fairly average against Wake Forest, but Clemson is now 6-0 and cruising towards their third straight appearance in the college football playoff.

3. Georgia

The Bulldogs are playing fantastic football and are going to win the SEC East.

The only SEC team that has a real chance to beat Georgia is Auburn and there's a possibility that both Alabama and Georgia could be 12-0 in the SEC title game.

Indeed, for all the SEC hate out there earlier this year, the SEC has by far the best chance of any conference to get two teams into the playoff.

4. TCU

The Horned Frogs got a nice win over West Virginia and are now the only undefeated team remaining in the Big 12. With games left at Kansas State, at Oklahoma and at Texas Tech, it seems unlikely TCU is going 12-0.

So would a 12-1 Big 12 champ get into the playoff?

Let the debate begin.

5. Penn State

The Nittany Lions are the best team in the Big Ten so far this season, but are they good enough to win at Ohio State on October 28th?

Because with Michigan's loss to Michigan State that's probably the game that will decide the Big Ten East.

6. Washington State

The Cougars went on the road at Oregon and got a nice win to get to 6-0 and now it's looking very likely the Pac 12 North will be decided at the Apple Cup.

7. Washington

I'm just assuming Washington is going to win this game, but the damn thing doesn't kick until 10:45 eastern and I'll be damned if I'm waiting to put the top ten up until that game ends.

So if the Huskies lose I'll adjust the top ten on Sunday morning.

8. Auburn

I know Wisconsin is still undefeated, but I think Auburn and Ohio State are presently the best one loss teams in college football and I think both would beat the Badgers head-to-head.

Remember, Auburn's only loss is at Clemson. You can even make a decent argument that I have the Tigers ranked too low here.

Crazily, Auburn will play the top three teams in the Outkick top ten this year.

9. Oklahoma

The Sooners are still in my top ten by virtue of their win over Ohio State, but Oklahoma is fading as the season continues while Ohio State appears to be surging. We are, however, really setting up for an interesting playoff debate. We feel pretty good at this point about Alabama and Clemson getting playoff and Washington has the best route to 12-0 of any team left in major college football.

So can Oklahoma run the table and finish 12-1 now and steal the final playoff spot from a 12-1 Ohio State team?

10. Ohio State

Ohio State is the second best team in the Big Ten right now.

And given the fact they get Penn State at home, you have to make the Buckeyes the favorite to win the Big Ten East.
