Outkick's Top Ten For Week 11 2017
What a weekend of college football.
Seriously, just wow.
College football is the best sport in America and there's not a close second.
I can't wait to see how the final two weeks of the regular season go and what transpires in title game weekend, but for now here's my best effort at the top ten teams in the country.
1. Alabama
The Tide survived at Mississippi State.
Now the question is this, is Bama in trouble against Auburn in two weeks? Because I think they might be.
But for now Alabama is the best team in college football.
2. Miami
Yes, it's a big jump in the Outkick rankings, but the Hurricanes didn't just win, they were totally dominant over Outkick's number three team, Notre Dame.
Now it sure looks like 11-0 Miami will be playing 11-1 Clemson in the ACC title game for a trip to the playoff.
3. Oklahoma
The Sooners absolutely, positively have to be in the top four of the playoff rankings come Tuesday.
Pray for Kansas next weekend. Then comes West Virginia.
But here's the dilemma for the Big 12. In the first year of their title game, it's totally unnecessary. Oklahoma is the undisputed Big 12 champ and all they can do is lose the title and cost the Big 12 a spot in the playoff in the "title" game.
4. Clemson
The Tigers get Citadel this coming weekend and then finish at South Carolina.
Look out for that game against the Gamecocks given how well Will Muschamp has South Carolina playing.
But if the Tigers win at South Carolina they get an effective playoff game against Miami in the ACC title game.
5. Georgia
Yes, the Bulldogs got whipped, but they had a mulligan on the schedule. Beat Kentucky and Georgia Tech and Georgia will roll into Atlanta to play Alabama or get a rematch against Auburn.
Win the SEC title game and they're in the playoff no matter what happened at Auburn.
6. Wisconsin
The Badgers got it done against Iowa.
But it's still 13-0 or bust for the Badgers when it comes to the playoff.
7. Auburn
Could Auburn really beat Georgia then Alabama and then Georgia again to advance to the college football playoff?
Yep, they could.
Do I think they will?
Nope.
But that game against Alabama is going to be wild.
8. Notre Dame
The Irish were embarrassed by Miami and saw their playoff dreams die.
But 10-2 still seems very likely. And it's hard to be upset with a 10-2 season.
9. Ohio State
The Buckeyes dominated Michigan State to win the Big Ten East.
Unfortunately for Buckeye fans it's virtually impossible to see how they can make the playoff now.
10. USC
The Trojans may well finish 11-2 and win the Pac 12, but in the wake of Washington's loss to Stanford the Pac 12's playoff hopes are dead.
