OutKick The Tailgate: UT Baseball Coach Tony Vitello Talks Vols' Recruiting

"Everybody's young at heart and rowdy and our guys can see that."

That was Tennessee baseball head coach Tony Vitello Saturday morning on OutKick the Tailgate. Vitello joined OutKick's Jonathan Hutton, Jill Savage and Clay Travis live from Calhoun's in Knoxville, the site of No. 1 Georgia vs. Tennessee at 3:30 p.m. on CBS.

With 100,000 plus expected to be at Neyland Stadium on Saturday, Vitello said that it can have a positive effect on recruiting for baseball.

"What our guys can do when they're on a visit, like a couple of superstars we have visiting now, they'll see the type of fans we have here," Vitello said. "I mean, it's not a fanbase that sits on their hands."

Conversely, Vitello said that his baseball team's run to the College World Series last season helped Josh Heupel recruit players to play football at Tennessee.

"Recruits could come and walk down the street or see into the stadium and basically see what we got going on," Vitello said. "Vol nation is about as loyal as it gets, and about as big as it gets and everyone will see that today."

OutKick the Tailgate is live every Saturday morning at the site of the biggest game in the SEC that week. Join Hutton, Savage, Travis and Chad Withrow every Saturday at OutKick.com and on OutKick’s official YouTube page.
