Without junior quarterback Bo Nix, the OutKick the Tailgate crew isn’t giving Auburn (6-5, 3-4 SEC) much of a shot of upsetting No. 3 Alabama (10-1, 6-1 SEC) in the Iron Bowl on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on CBS.
Nix will be sidelined with an ankle injury, leaving OutKick’s Jonathan Hutton wondering how Auburn is going to move the ball on offense.
“Without Bo Nix, there’s nothing you can really hang your hat on that you know has a chance to show up,” Hutton said. “You can get the run game going whenever Nix is on the move, throwing the football well, but Alabama and the defense I think is too much for this offense today.”
OutKick’s Chad Withrow, meanwhile, pointed to the Alabama offense and their firepower. Withrow doesn’t see it with Auburn and says that will be the difference.
“We’ve seen crazy things happen in this rivalry, like we do a lot of rivalry games, but it would be really crazy if Auburn was able to pull this off today without Bo Nix,” Withrow said. “At some point you have to score with Alabama and Bryce Young and what they do offensively. I just don’t see this Auburn team having the firepower to be able to do that at any point in this game.”
