Clay: Idea Of Expanding CFP Is 'Growing On Me A Little Bit'

Some recent talk suggests the NCAA is contemplating expanding the College Football Playoff from four to 12 teams. That's not a bad idea, says OutKick founder Clay Travis.

"My biggest takeaway, if they're going to 12, is it's an interesting move because it preserves the value of the top four seeds in a major way, right?" Clay says. "In theory, the top four seeds could get a bye, and then the other eight teams would play against each other, and then whoever won those four games would advance into an eight-team playoff."

It's very similar to the way the NFL used to do it, before expanding to seven playoff teams in each conference. "This is growing on me a little bit," Clay says.
