Outkick the Podcast: Cooper Manning Is Our Guest

Videos by OutKick

Cooper Manning, the oldest of the Manning brothers, is an enigma. What’s he like? Was he an athlete too? What does he do for a living? Is he happier than Peyton and Eli? What would have happened if his football career hadn’t come to an end, would Peyton have gone to Ole Miss instead of Tennessee? Who do his kids root for when Eli and Peyton play each other?

How many questions can I type in a row?

Lots, clearly.

Go listen to the podcast for all the answers.

If you like college football and are at all interested in the Manning family legacy from Archie to Eli, you’re going to love this podcast. We talk about everything else too from rejected Saturday Night Live skits — Cooper is Peyton and Eli’s primary humor sounding board — to Johnny Manziel at the Manning Passing Academy to Hugh Freeze and Ole Miss’s rise to prominence. We also talk quite a bit about the new ESPN documentary, “The Book of Manning,” which airs at 8 eastern on ESPN on Tuesday the 24th.

Y’all need to watch this movie, it’s really, really great.

Cooper is really a funny guy and his stories are pretty outstanding.

You’re going to love this podcast.

Despite the stupid guy asking the questions.

And if you haven’t downloaded the first podcast with Erin Andrews, you’re going to love that too.

As if I wasn’t already doing enough work, now you have a podcast option to get even more Outkick content.

We’ll have a new guest and podcast up every Thursday morning.

So plan your jogs accordingly.

Go listen, subscribe, and download the Outkick podcasts here.

And keep your guest suggestions coming. We’ve got continued great guests lined up in the weeks ahead.

By the way, for those of you who aren’t familiar with podcasts — and there are lots of you. not just my mom and dad — wondering what makes this podcast different than the 20 hours or so of weekly radio I’m already doing, the easy answer is: NO COMMERCIALS.

This means it’s just 45 minutes to an hour of straight conversation.

The goal is that by the time we finish with the podcast you have a much better idea of what the guest is like than you have gotten from any other media. It’s a big goal, but I think it’s an attainable one. Where else in media can you spend this long with no edits and no soundbites?

I don’t know of anywhere else.

So enjoy and keep the feedback coming.

Here’s the link one last time.
