There are just two weeks left in the NFL regular season and Christmas has pushed 12 games to Saturday, with many teams still fighting for their playoff lives. Some that seemed like sure bets to make the postseason a few weeks ago are suddenly on the verge of missing out, including the defending Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos, who are longshots right now. Find out which teams will come up big in Week 16 and which will flop with the pressure on ...
Bengals at Texans (-1) (Sat, 8:25 p.m. ET) – Matchup Report
Give Houston head coach Bill O'Brien some credit for benching starting quarterback Brock Osweiler in favor of backup Tom Savage, lighting a fire under the team en route to a comeback victory. However, sticking with Savage is a risky move down the stretch, as the Texans are only 2-19-1 against the spread in their past 22 primetime games. Savage does not figure to solve that problem, so look for Cincy to spring the upset.
Broncos at Chiefs (-3.5) (Sun, 8:30 p.m. ET) – Matchup Report
Denver gave up the AFC West lead to the Oakland Raiders nearly two months ago. Now the division race is down to Oakland and Kansas City, which can earn a rare sweep over the Broncos, who have won the past five meetings at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs do not care what the betting trends say, they will not lose two in a row at home and will cover this one too.
Lions at Cowboys (-7) (Mon, 8:30 p.m. ET) – Matchup Report
The end of the schedule is brutal for Detroit, as the team must play three teams with winning records who may all be playoff-bound. The last one – the Green Bay Packers – might get in at the expense of the Lions, who could conceivably finish the season on a three-game losing streak. Dallas has failed to cover three straight in primetime and also needs a victory here in order to win the NFC East. The Cowboys have already clinched a playoff berth though, so look for the Lions to keep it close and cover the spread for the fourth time in five trips to Arlington.
