Outkick 2016 Reader/Viewer/Listener Data

We begin with big news: starting on this Friday Outkick the Coverage, our 6-9 am eastern Fox Sports Radio morning show, will start on Sirius/XM channel 83.

That's this Friday.

So all of you who have satellite radio can now hear the show anywhere in the country. This is huge for Outkick and we're rapidly going to become satellite radio's most popular morning sports show in the country.

Now for our 2016 reader and viewer data.

In 2016 Outkick did over 20 million unique readers of Outkick the Coverage and viewers or listeners of Outkick the Show.

Over twenty million!

2016 was a massive year for Outkick because we officially became a multimedia company. Our daily Outkick shows averaged 855,123 unique viewers a month on Facebook Live and 326,826 unique viewers a month on Periscope. Those are video views which are insanely more valuable to advertisers than page views or podcast audio.

On top of that we averaged hundreds of thousands of unique readers a month and around 150k downloads a month of the podcast for audio only. (We have a triple delivery system for Outkick the Show with Periscope and Facebook delivering over 90% of our daily audience, mostly live, before we turn that show into an audio only version that then is downloadable as a podcast.)

Meaning that every month in 2016 we had nearly 2 million unique readers, viewers and listeners for Outkick content.

And that doesn't even count the huge numbers of you who also listen to our daily nationwide Outkick the Coverage Show on Fox Sports Radio and starting Friday on Sirius/XM channel 83.

That's flat out unbelievable.

Just one year into the experiment Outkick the Show on Periscope and Facebook is an incredible success thanks to you guys. We remain the largest and longest running daily sports show on both platforms. (If you want to advertise on Outkick the Show, we are rapidly filling up, but you can email me at clay.travis@gmail.com and I'll put you in touch with our advertising crew).

Put simply, Outkick has never had a better year than 2016.

I'll write on this later, but I'm convinced that written content has peaked on the Internet and so I've made the calculated decision to only do 100% original content on Outkick in 2017. That means we'll post less, but our posts will have more depth to them. 99.9% of popular stories on the sports Internet are now the exact same regardless of which site you visit. (Or more accurately click through from Facebook). So what I'm going to be doing with Outkick in 2017 is only writing stories that you won't find anywhere else.

I'm going to give you all of our market data for individual cities later this week as well as our most read stories, but in the meantime, here were our most popular states ranked by number of unique visitors. This is total visitors, not per capita:
